DOL Skills Exam Requirements

To be eligible for the Washington State Department of Licensing (DOL) driving skills exam, all applicants must meet the following requirements:

✅ Knowledge Exam

• You must have passed the DOL Knowledge Exam with a score of 80% or higher.

🧾 Required Identification

• All applicants must provide a valid Washington Driver License (WDL) number or Washington State ID number at the time of registration.
• On the day of the test, you must bring proof of identification, such as:
  Washington photo permit or ID card
  Passport or passport card
  Out-of-state driver license
  School ID/ yearbook with your photo

✋ Arm Signal Demonstration

• Before starting the exam, you will be required to demonstrate proper arm turn signals to ensure safety and communication awareness.

Please come prepared to meet these requirements. Incomplete or missing documentation may result in cancellation or rescheduling of your exam.

Re-Testing is permitted for an additional fee, scheduling, registering, and paying for a Knowledge and Skills Exam can be completed from our website.

Refund Policy: Refunds are not given for missed appointments or failed Exams. Arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to your Appointment/exam. If you are late for the scheduled appointment time, your exam and fees will be forfeited. NO REFUNDS, NO EXCEPTIONS! You will have a 5-minute grace period for the Skills Exam, if you happen to arrive after your 5-minute grace period or miss the scheduled appointment you will be charged a $50.00 No-Show/ Late fee/ Forfeited Exam.
